Directions

Vaxholmen is a small island located in the Stockholm archipelago in Sweden and you can get here for free using the public transport boat by SL. This boat doesn`t go that often, but there are plenty of operators you can buy tickets from. It is a popular destination year round due to its picturesque scenery and proximity to the city of Stockholm and I love come here for a daytrip, just packing some food, a blanket and swimwear/towel in summer. The island is home to a few hundred people and is known for its traditional wooden houses, sandy beaches, and stunning views of the Baltic Sea. It is also home to a number of restaurants, cafes, and shops, so you can also indulge a little if you want.
