If you want to travel like a local in Stockholm you should definitely hop on one of the SL-boats, which you can use with your regular public transport ticket. Make sure it says SL on the boat. You can ride it for example from Nacka Strand into the city center or just on the other side to Djurgården and continue walking to Östermalm.
