The Katarina Elevator, also known as the Katarina Lift, is a cool passenger elevator in Stockholm that zips folks from Slussen to the heights of Södermalm. Originally built in 1881 and revamped in 1936, this lift was closed for a major facelift in 2010 but reopened in October 2023. It's like a handy shortcut for getting around the city with some historical charm thrown in! At the moment it is free to use but they are planning to introduce a small fee per ride.
