For a relatively short and easy hike with a stunning reward, you can't beat the trail to Bowen Lookout. Starting from the Cypress Mountain ski area, this 4-kilometer round-trip hike takes you through a beautiful forest to a viewpoint with breathtaking views over Howe Sound and Bowen Island. While mostly gentle, there is a short, steep section to get your heart pumping, but the entire walk typically takes about 1.5 hours. It's a fantastic choice for a quick nature escape, and you might even be greeted by friendly whiskey jacks and chipmunks at the lookout. If you can, go for sunset!
