Remote windswept Hebridean beach

You’ll find Garry Beach in the Outer Hebrides, a remote, wide sand and pebble shoreline good for solitary walks, wildlife watching and dramatic photos rather than swimming or facilities. Access is along narrow single‑track roads with only a small layby, so bring food, water and warm waterproof layers, and expect patchy phone signal. The beach is exposed and can be very windy even in summer, and there are no lifeguards, so check tide times before entering the water and wear sturdy shoes for the pebbles. Keep dogs under control during nesting season, watch for seals and seabirds, and take all rubbish with you.
