Corniglia is one of the charming villages in the Cinque Terre National Park, perched high on a cliff overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Unlike its neighboring towns, it doesn’t sit right by the water, which gives it a unique vibe. Visitors have to climb a steep staircase or take a shuttle from the train station to reach the village, but the effort is totally worth it.
Once there, they can wander through narrow streets lined with colorful houses and enjoy stunning views of the coastline. The local shops offer delicious treats, like fresh focaccia and local wines, making it a perfect spot for a leisurely snack. Corniglia also has some lovely hiking trails that connect to the other Cinque Terre villages, allowing adventurers to soak in the breathtaking scenery along the way. It’s a quieter place compared to the more touristy spots, giving visitors a chance to relax and soak up the authentic Italian atmosphere.
