This is one of the BEST places to see sunset or sunrise on the parkway. Since it's pretty high up, you may get stuck in the clouds, but if the weather is behaving the sunsets here are incredible.

You can bring chairs to set up right next to the parking lot and watch (could picnic here as well) or you can do the hike up. I've done both! The hike up has an amazing unobstructed spot to see the sunset and if you go all the way to the top you can look out in the opposite direction which is great if you want to catch sunrise! The hike is short but steep.

A lot of people do this hike to find the old abandoned plane. They recently removed it so don't waste your time looking for it!
