Green Knob Lookout Tower is a hidden spot nestled away in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Visitors to the tower can enjoy a 360-degree view from the outdoor platform looking over Mt. Mitchell, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and the surrounding woodlands.

To get here, you'll park at Green Knob Overlook and walk along the side of the parkway for about 200 ft. or so before seeing a trail open up to the left.

The hike up is short and sweet. Once you get to the split, you will go to the left. The fire tower is locked shut, but the view from the stairs is beautiful and if you have a drone, this is a great place to fly it since you can't fly directly off the parkway.
