Lakeside Camping in NC

Campsite

Message from Cate

One of the few state parks I've camped at in North Carolina. The facilities here are great and the proximity to Lake James is unmatched. I also love how close it is to Linville Gorge which is one of my favorite areas to explore in NC.

I thought the campsites were great in terms of space (perfect for a big tent) and you can buy firewood with cash from the camp host. The firewood was $6 a bundle when I was there.

The bathroom facilities are well kept with toilets, sinks, and showers. I was generally impressed with how clean the entire campground was and you're not right on top of your neighbors. This isn't as private as some hipcamps I've been to, but all the campsites are surrounded by woods on three sides so you do get some general privacy
