Vestrahorn is a spectacular mountain located near East Fjords in south-east Iceland. Its distinctive peaks tower 454 metres (1,490 feet) above its surrounds and face out to the sea on its southern side. This unique mountain is made of iron- and magnesium-rich gabbro rock, leading to a dark and jagged appearance and making it immensely popular for photographers looking to capture the perfect shot. Vestrahorn is also home to seals living on its surrounding sandy black beaches and attracts thousands of visitors in the winter hoping to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights. Seal fans, landscape photographers, film buffs, and nature lovers alike, will find Mount Vestrahorn to be an amazing experience.
