Itsukushima Shrine, also known as Itsukushima Jinja, is a famous Shinto shrine on Miyajima Island in Japan. The shrine is best known for its iconic "floating" torii gate, which appears to be floating in the sea during high tide. Visitors can explore the shrine's multiple buildings connected by boardwalks above the water and enjoy the picturesque views of the Seto Inland Sea. At low tide, the water drains out of the bay, allowing visitors to walk out and see the gate up close. Don't forget to check the tide timings for the best experience!
