Yakushima Island, located off the coast of Kagoshima Prefecture in Japan, is a natural paradise known for its ancient forests and diverse wildlife. With eight mountain peaks over 1,800 meters high, including Kyushu's highest peak, the island offers a unique blend of subtropical and cold temperate climates. Visitors can explore the famous yaku sugi cedar trees, some over 1,000 years old, and enjoy stunning waterfalls, beaches, and coral reefs. Don't forget your umbrella though, as it's said to rain almost every day on this enchanting island!
