Onyado Yuinosho is a beautiful ryokan nestled in the heart of Japan's scenic beauty, just 1.4km from Shirakawago. Here you get to enjoy a delicious kaiseki dinner, stunning mountain views, hot springs as well as a shuttle bus to the traditional village.

If you look for a truly traditional stay, you could also stay in one of the minshuku (Farm houses) but it's difficult to make a reservation, you can only stay for 1 night and not bring any larger suitcases. So if you want to plan ahead, I highly recommend this ryokan which has been designed to resemble the traditional architecture.
