Gero Onsen is a picturesque town famous for its natural hit spring water and backdropped by the beautiful mountains of Gifu Prefecture. If you are planning to go to Takayama or Shirakawago, I highly recommend to also stop one night at Gero. The town has a history of over 1000 years and the water is called "bijin no yu" or beautifying water, being said to give you soft and smooth skin.
