This is where Mary, Queen of Scots lived between 1561 and 1567. You can climb the steps to the north-west tower and you will enter a different time era. You will learn all about the history, the tragedy and murder that was happening at that time.

Today the Holyrood Palace is a tourist attraction as well as the official residence of the British monarch in Scotland. It has served as the principal royal residence since the 16th century.

Besides the incredible history behind the palace, it is also one of the most photogenic places in Edinburgh! Even outside the gates. You can also see the famous Arthur's Point from this place! If you are a photographer, you will love this area.
