Ice Explorers (Winter Location)
Activity
Directions

An absolutely unique experience in Iceland is going on a glacier walk and visiting the ice caves. Skaftafell is a popular place for glacier walks but also at Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon you can go on different ice experiences. We went on a glacier walk, including a visit to an ice cave with Ice Explorers. Equipped with crampons, helmet and harness we walked over the ice of the Breidamerkurjökull with our guide. On the tour we got a lot of information about the glaciers and the ice caves. Here too you are faced with the facts of global warming and certainly how fast it is all happening. We are not die-hard climate activists or anything like that, but this really woke us up. Therefore we think there is a real need for more people to be made aware of these obvious consequences. So go on a glacier walk for the experience and spread the word!
