Opened in late 2025 on Penzance’s historic Chapel Street, Orto is a Mediterranean neighbourhood restaurant and wine bar from chef Fred Goodrich, who trained at Michelin-starred HIDE in Mayfair. The name means “vegetable garden” — and the menu lives up to it, with sun-kissed small plates, handmade pasta and seasonal Cornish produce shaped by Mediterranean instincts. Natural wines, a courtyard for negronis and a warm, candlelit atmosphere made for lingering. One of the most interesting new openings in west Cornwall in years. Open Wednesday to Saturday.
