The Aletsch Glacier - the biggest glacier in the alps. If you wanted to touch a glacier once in your life, this is your chance. You find many hikes here but this is the best. How to get there: Take the cable car from Betten Station to the Bettmerhorn. Here you have the first amazing view of the Aletsch Glacier. From now on you will walk along the glacier the entire time. Its mostly flat, with only a few up and downs. At one point you will reach the Märjelen lake and this is the spot you get as close as possible you can even touch it. After you pass the Glacier Hut. Here you get food and drinks but there was only cash at that time. Now you make your way back via a 1km long tunnel. Your final destination is Bettmeralp. Total amount of time is 5.5 hours and 15km, mostly flat. Price: I highly recommend the Entdeckerpass/Explorer Pass. This is cheaper than a regular pass and perfect for your hike. It gives you access to all the cable cars for a whole day and you have all the freedom to explore. It costs 55chf or 27chf with a travel pass/half fare.
