You know you're in the right place when you start to smell a different scent. It is the typical sulfur of this geothermal area.

This area has several geysers (type of hot spring). You will be able to see steam coming out of the ground and boiling water everywhere. Strokkur is the geysir that is in constant activity, erupting every 7 minutes (more or less). You can see this small explosion as many times as you want because it is not always the same (sometimes stronger, sometimes weaker). Here you can also do one of the trails and, very close to this area, you have one that takes you to the top of a mountain which gives you an incredible panoramic view.
