Since 2011, the MAS, the Museum Aan de Stroom, has been located on the trendy Eilandje, the oldest port area in Antwerp. It is the place where the city and the port meet. Both the beautiful example of architecture and the museum collection itself are perfect examples of this.

Antwerp is the city on the Schelde, the city on the river. For centuries this has ensured encounters and exchanges between people from all over the world. The MAS collects the evidence of this and exhibits all these fascinating stories. About the city, the river, the harbor and the rest of the world. The MAS is a versatile museum, full of stories and surprises.

A visit to the MAS means exploring the building from bottom to top. You have no less than 10 floors to discover! And as you do that, you discover that the museum is much bigger than the building itself. With each floor you climb, not only does Luc Tuymans' hidden artwork 'Dead Skull' become more visible on the square below, but the whole of Antwerp stretches out in front of you.
