Dinant is a charming little city in de province of Namur. It is located next to the river the Meuse and was the hometown of Adolphe Sax, the inventor of the saxophone. The symbol of this city is the beautiful Collegiate Church of Notre-Dame. It was built in the 14th century and in the 16th century the characteristic spherical bell tower was added. This wonderful building stands at the foot of the hill on which the citadel is built, 100 meters above the level of the Meuse. It is a majestic defensive structure that dates from the 16th century. You can reach the top of the hill by climbing 408 steep steps, take the cable car or just drive up there with your car.
