Ok I spot "la empanadería" in Margarita island because it is the best spot of "empanadas" in the island and one of the most iconic in the country, but you could eat empanadas almost in every corner of the country.

I would say than empanadas are more sold than arepas because is easier to do it, cheaper and easier to eat it, but if you're still wondering what an empanada is, well is basically an arepa (corn dough and stuffed with anything) but this time is closed and fried, so as I said, is easy to grab it and eat it everywhere, specially in the beach where this is the common breakfast.

Empanadas are usually stuffed with everything but I suggest you to try this ones.

  • Plantains and cheese

  • Shredded meat or chicken

  • domino (black beans and cheese)

  • Pabellón (this is one of our typical dishes from Venezuela, and you will find it in another post, but everything inside an empanada).

Wherever you decide to try the empanadas the best drink to accompany it is a malta which I already talk in other post where I mentioned the best drinks of the country, but I can tell you in advance that malta... you will LOVE it or HATE it.

Remember if you plan to visit Venezuela and you want a local guide who takes you to the best spots you can contact Soco Adventures, an adventure travel agency with young people working to show the best of the country. They can help you from a full day city tour up to visiting the tallest waterfall in the world. You can check out the tours they offer or contact them by whatsapp in the button of its website here www.socoadventures.net
