Trattoria Cammillo was one of the first restaurants I ever ate at when I moved to Florence at the request of many local Florentines eager to show me authentic Tuscan cuisine and let me tell you - it did not disappoint. They’ve been in business for over 70 years and are a great stop if you’re looking for true homestyle cooking done in a completely family-run trattoria. They feature a large menu of dishes ranging from Tuscan classics to more modern plates designed by the family – it would be hard to find something you don’t like here. Because this Trattoria is so popular for both locals and tourists, they can fill up quite quickly, so I’d highly recommend making a reservation in advance!

Kacie's Recommendation: Here you should try any of the classic Tuscan dishes I mentioned at the start of this section. I can’t bring myself to eat fried brains, but Dario claims they’re excellent if you’re feeling adventurous. For starters, the Ribollita soup here is top-notch, as well as all of their Tortellini pasta dishes – if you’ve never tried “Tortellini in Brodo”, they make it wonderfully. Lastly, get the tiramisu. Thank me later.
