Situated off the main streets across the river in the San Frediano neighborhood of Florence, Le Volte is quaint, unassuming, and so, SO frickin good. Run by young chefs taught by Florentine masters, they present a modest menu of Tuscan classics mixed with more modernized plates, but regardless, everything on the menu is absolutely delicious. Seating is limited and intimate inside, but if you go in the warmer months there is outdoor seating available, which I definitely recommend.

Kacie's Recommendation: The menu changes with the season, but the truffle gnocchi I had there still lives rent-free in my head. The “Mama Daniellas” meatballs are fantastic and not what you’d typically expect in a meatball – the meat is grated more, allowing for a smoother texture while bathing in a delicious cheese cream sauce. I’m not sure who Mama Daniella is, but she did dang good with these meatballs.
