Coffee is the the strong, black, sweet backbone of Bosnian society – and it’s enjoyed any time of day.

The place I recommended here is a beautiful little café, tucked away in a corner of the Old Town and not very much frequented by other tourists. I love it because of the peacefuly atmosphere and the Sevdah music – a traditional Bosnian music, comparable to Fado in Portugal – that is played there.

And this is how you can master the art of drinking Bosnian coffee like a local: 
1️⃣ When you get the coffee, wait a moment for the coffee grounds to settle
2️⃣ Scoop off the foam and put it in the cup
3️⃣ Carefully pour in the coffee, but not everything, so that the grounds don't get into your cup
4️⃣ Sip the coffee. If you want it sweeter, dip a sugar cube or lokum (the candy) into the coffee, put it in your mouth, and then take a sip. Enjoy ☕

Sevdah Art House ist ein wunderschönes kleines Café, versteckt in einer Ecke der Altstadt und von anderen Touristen nicht sehr frequentiert. Ich liebe es wegen der friedlichen Atmosphäre und der Sevdah-Musik – eine traditionelle bosnische Musik, vergleichbar mit Fado in Portugal – die dort gespielt wird.

Und so trinkst du bosnischen Kaffee wie ein Bosnier:
1️⃣ Wenn du den Kaffee bekommst, warte einen Moment, bis sich der Kaffeesatz gesetzt hat
2️⃣ Den Schaum abschöpfen und in die Tasse geben
3️⃣ Den Kaffee vorsichtig eingießen, aber nicht alles, damit der Kaffeesatz nicht in Ihre Tasse gelangt
4️⃣ Einen Zuckerwürfel oder Lokum (die Süßigkeit) in den Kaffee tauchen, dann einen Schluck Kaffee nehmen und Süßes und Bitteres im Mund vermischen ☕
