🇬🇧 While the bobsled track is not a secret (still a must-see though!), this place is normally only visited by locals: The observatory "Bistrik kula" on the slopes of Trebević above Sarajevo was the only observatory in the country before the war and is now in ruins.

Built on top of an old Austro-Hungarian fortress, the observatory was a major tourist attraction but it was completely destroyed during the siege of Sarajevo. Up until today, you can still see the scars of war on the buildings – it is located only 180 meters from the intra-Bosnian border to the Republic of Srpska and was a strategically important location. Now, young people hang out here where they can have some privacy and graffiti artists use the place as training ground.

You can climb up the towers even though, for safety reasons, this is of course not recommended!

🇩🇪 Während die Bobbahn kein Geheimtipp ist (trotzdem ein Muss!), wird dieser Ort normalerweise nur von Einheimischen besucht: Das Observatorium "Bistrik kula" an den Hängen des Trebević oberhalb von Sarajevo war vor dem Krieg das einzige Observatorium des Landes und ist heute eine Ruine.

Das auf einer alten österreichisch-ungarischen Festung errichtete Observatorium war eine wichtige Attraktion, wurde aber während der Belagerung von Sarajevo vollständig zerstört. Bis heute kann man die Narben des Krieges an den Gebäuden sehen - es liegt nur 180 Meter von der innerbosnischen Grenze zur Republik Srpska entfernt und war ein strategisch wichtiger Ort. Jetzt ist es ein Treffpunkt für junge Leute und Graffiti-Künstler.
