What you’ll do

Season: October - March

This 5 day, 4 night itinerary is perfect for a winter adventure and takes advantage of the short days in Iceland. I will bring you to the most iconic places along the south coast and introduce you to glaciers and ice caves, one of Iceland’s finest features. Ice Caves are only accessible in the wintertime and are truly a magical experience. This trip will begin in Reykjavik, though you will stay on the South Coast at my favorite place. I suggest Blue Car Rental, you can pick it up and drop it off right at the airport. A 4x4 car is NOT necessary for this trip, however if you feel more comfortable driving with one in case of snow then I recommend it.

You'll want to make sure to check the weather and road conditions daily because it IS winter and the conditions can be a bit unpredictable

Icelandic Weather can be found here: www.vedur.is Icelandic Road Conditions can be found here: www.road.is

It might also be a good idea to sign up for travel alerts during the time you are here at www.safetravel.is

You'll have a chance to try and find the northern lights every night if the weather is clear, I added in tips to help you spot them!

Today you will arrive in Iceland and you will get acquainted with the country by taking a food tour in Reykjavik. If you are short on time, head straight to the city for the Reykjavik food walk.
