This hike is a true hidden gem I even didn't know myself before. It's fantastic views over Walensee are truly amazing and unique. You will need to take the cable car Palfries - make sure to make the reservation here: http://www.seilbahn-palfries.ch/

The trail now leads gently uphill across alpine pastures, below the Gauschla, and then winds its way up in serpentines between the Gauschla and the Alvier. From In de Stei it becomes a little less steep. Lake Walen can be seen in the valley - opposite are the Flumserberge with the striking Spitzmeilen. The steep ascent is partly secured with ropes or chains. Take the wooden ladder through the Chemmi. Above it, the view opens up to the Principality of Liechtenstein. (Always follow the Alvier signs)

A sweaty but rewarding climb. From the ridge, it is reassuring to see that the hut is already visible. This climb is worthwhile, and the hiker is rewarded with a panoramic view from the hut. And from there I did go the same way down.
