The Gotthard massif is home to the highest triple continental watershed in Europe. An alpine circular hiking trail will make this unique place accessible and add another attraction to the Four Springs Trail.

At this point, the precipitation separates into three important watercourses: the Rhine, the Rhone and the Po. Even a slight change in wind direction influences the watercourse. The alpine hiking trail begins at the Rotondo Hut. It leads along the Witenwasseren glacier to that rock plateau. From there you usually go back down over the Hüendersattel and in direction Oberstafel where you have a bus or maybe your car parked to go back. The first part of the trail is easy and still a T2 but the last 40-50 min it's a bluew/white T4 and I'll do not recommend to do this part without a guide. You can easily book your guide with Andermatt guides: https://www.andermatt-guides.ch/. You can do the whole tour in one day or rather have an overnight stay in Rotondohütte. Tour from and to Oberstafel Distance: 10.2km Duration: 4-5h Ascent: 993m Descent: 993m

Photography Tips: As Uri is super rocky and in a way very mystical it's a fantastic way to get to the top at the Wasserscheide Triangle and shoot towards Witenwasserenstock. Depending on the lightenting conditions it's also super nice to get some shots towards the glaciers.
