Getting there:

To get to the Masai Mara, you can either drive or fly. The drive from Nairobi is around 6 hours. You can contact any tour agency to arrange this. I used Somac Safaris. They are a budget friendly company with knowledgeable guides. If you decide to drive, your driver will also serve as your safari guide in the park which saves you the cost of having to pay for rides at your accomodation. It also ensures you have the vehicle to yourself.

Alternatively, you can fly. Use airlines SafariLink, Air Kenya or Fly540.

Top Tips:

Insist with your driver on leaving very early in the mornings. That is when you will have the best sightings. Arrange to have drinks and snacks on a drive during sunset. You can park next to an acacia tree.

Content Tips:

Park near an acacia tree in the savanah at sunset to get an iconic picture of the sun setting with the tree in the photo.

Be patient! Animal activities cannot be predicted, sometimes that means waiting hours for the right shot.
