The hike starts at Wasserauen, which is easily accessible by public transports. From there, you hike up to the famous lake Seealpsee. Don't forget to stop, take pictures and maybe even a swim! From there, a steep path leads up along a rock face until you have reached a certain altitude. From there on, the path only slowly increases altitude, and then you see it: In the middle of the mighty mountains of the Alpstein massive (especially "Altmann" and "Säntis", Meglisalp lies. It's the perfect place to rest and eat something. Now you have the choice: Descend again, hike up to Rotsteinpass and Säntis and take the cable car from there or even stay for a night at Meglisalp. In any case: The heart of the Alpstein massive is always a good experience.
