How to Rent an Apartment in Minsk for a Long Stay

If you’re planning to stay in Minsk for a few weeks or even a month or more, renting an apartment long-term is the best option. It’s more comfortable and much cheaper than hotels.

1️⃣ Where to search

Use local Belarusian platforms — they show real offers and local prices:

• Neagent.by – apartments directly from owners (no agent fee in 90% cases)

• Kufar.by – big platform with both owners and agents

When you google something like rent apartment long stay in Minsk (снять квартиру в Минске на длительный срок), websites ending with .by are Belarusian and usually trustworthy.

2️⃣ Prices you can expect

💰 Monthly rent in Minsk:

• Budget one-bedroom: from $250/month +

• Central / nicer apartments: $400–1000/month

• Elite areas (like Lebyazhiy): around $450–600/month for a one-bedroom

If the price looks too good — there is usually a reason 😉

3️⃣ Contract or no contract?

If you rent directly from the owner, they may not offer a formal contract (to save on taxes).

This is a normal local practice in Belarus.

⚠ But if you want extra security — always ask for a contract

4️⃣ Utilities & Internet

🔌 Utilities are cheaper in summer and higher in winter (heating season).

• Average utilities: 80–120 BYN/month

• Internet/Wi-Fi: 60–70 BYN/month, paid separately

⚠ Important: Always ask if someone is officially registered in the apartment.

If no one is registered, utilities are charged at higher tariffs — your bill can suddenly be 200 BYN+ per month.

5️⃣ Areas to avoid & what to know

📍 Not my top picks:

• Partizanskaya metro area

• Serebryanka

🏗 About Minsk-Mir district:

• Very dense

• Lots of construction

• Little greenery

• Apartments often look better in photos than in real life

Low price = usually a reason behind it.

Minsk is a great city for a longer stay — safe, comfortable and very green during warm seasons.
