A hike up to the Rawson Lake is one of the popular hikes in Kananaskis that can be easily combined with a hike up to the Sarrail Ridge in one day (which we highly recommend).

It is a 6.8 km round trip with a steady elevation gain of 500 meters. It's also a nice place to stretch your legs in the wintertime as it's safe in terms of avalanches (provided that you stay on the trail and don't venture beyond the end of the trail).
