Snib's Cave, located in Lendalfoot, Scotland, was once home to a hermit named Henry Ewing Torbet, also known as Snib Scott. Torbet lived in the cave for three decades, living off the land and refusing charity from others. He was a proud man who preferred self-sufficiency, hunting rabbits, gathering driftwood for fires, and foraging for food along the beach. Unfortunately, he passed away in 1983 after falling ill due to the harsh conditions of the cave. Today, a small memorial cairn stands nearby in his honor.
