The mountain village of Thethi is located in the Albanian Alps in the Qark of Shkodër in northern Albania. Situated between 750 and 850 meters above sea level, Theth is a popular destination for hikers and nature lovers. The first highlight of this circular walk is exploring Thethi's most iconic landmark:  the Church of Thethi (Kisha e Thethi; Kirche von Thethi) (42.389489 19.7815997), which was built in 1892. Dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Good Counsel, the church was rededicated on September 16, 2006. Its architecture blends harmoniously into the rugged alpine landscape, reflecting centuries of adaptation to the harsh mountain climate. Its sturdy walls were constructed from locally sourced stone. While many traditional homes and fortified tower houses in the region have stone slab roofs, the church has wooden shingles. These shingles are lightweight and provide excellent insulation against snow and moisture. They could also be produced locally.

The eastern edge of Thethi has largely escaped the effects of tourism. Here, traditional stone tower houses can still be found. With a bit of luck, visitors may encounter local women wearing traditional attire. They typically wear a white linen blouse with embroidered sleeves, a black or dark red wool skirt with an embroidered apron, a red wool belt, white wool stockings, and traditional leather shoes. They also wear an embroidered headscarf or a white veil. A little farther south stands the historic Blood Feud Tower (Kulla e Ngujimit; Blutracheturm).

Immediately behind the entrance to this attraction, the trail to the waterfall begins. Only a few signposts mark the route to the 25–30-meter-high Grunas Waterfall (Ujëvara e Grunasit; Grunas-Wasserfall). Crystal clear, icy-cold meltwater plunges into a large pool surrounded by steep limestone cliffs, creating one of the most impressive natural sights in the region.
