The Rob Roy Glacier Track is an enjoyable half-day hike that leads to fascinating alpine views. Located in the Mount Aspiring National Park, this track starts with a one hour drive along the Matukituki Valley into the park. Upon arrival, visitors will wind through beech forest and ferns with stunning waterfalls and mosses before reaching the tree line. From here hikers will enjoy sweeping views of the hanging glaciers beneath Mount Rob Roy and perhaps spot signs of active movement! For those wanting a longer hike, lunch can be enjoyed at the viewing point, taking care not to feed the persistent kea parrots.
