Zpráva od Ashley Elliott

Tāne Mahuta is New Zealands largest known Kauri Tree referred to as the "God the Forest".
Named after the Māori god of forests and birds, the tree is said to be between 1,250 and 2,500 years old with a robust trunk circumference of 50 feet. It stands proudly as the nation's largest living kauri tree, with a considerable height of 148 feet.
Tane Mahuta is located in one of the most beautiful forests in the country, Waipoua Forest, and the drive to reach him is spectacular.

The 5 minute track to the tree is a flat broadwalk suitable for prams and wheelchairs.
