Quiet and lesser known Loop Tracks ranging from 3-5hrs depending on your level of fitness.

You probably won't pass anyone on this track! Read reviews/google before going to make sure it's for you :) Take lots of water, some snacks.

From reviewers:

'The walk in this beautiful native forest area is lovely. As first timers, we found it tricky to identify the start of the yellow route. We now know to ignore the first entry gate and continue along the outside of the fenced area until the second entry gate! From here, the path is clear and easy to follow with orange markers throughout. There are some steep sections with a sharp drop to the valley floor. At times, the path meanders next to a river. In places, the path was littered with cow pats, so we had to watch the track carefully! There were a number of stairs. The information board stated the time for the walk as 3 to 4 hours, but we completed it in 2 and a half hours .... mostly because I was stung on the head by a bee, and was adrenalin powered for the last hour and a half! It would be great to do this walk again, taking time to delight in the scenery and tranquility of the forest!'

'Nice native bush walk, we did pukenui loop and chose to go left at the fork meaning we went clockwise around the loop. We felt this was the best way to go on a wet day, as it meant we went down the steep parts into the gulley that had no steps and climbed the steps back out of the gulley on the other side. Only saw a couple of people while there, and there is a beautiful tranquil stream that you follow with lots of Kauri along the way. Make sure to bring a water bottle and even some snacks as it's all hill climbing'

'Was looking for walks near kamo and saw this, never been before so thought I'd give it a go with the family. Super pretty native bush, will have to do the bigger the loop ( 5hrs) next time. Did the shorter loop (3hrs) had the kid with us bring a backpack to put the small kids in, there is a nice flat path at the start but is super steep in parts but totally worth it. Big kauri tree on the smaller loop. Nice carpark( no loos) good family hike or run if you're as keen as some of the people we saw on this walk 😯'
