Lovely walk to do to the beach 🏖️ while you're in the area

Track description

The track starts at the gate signposted on Kai Iwi Lakes Road and follows the fence line all the way to the DOC reserve at the coast. At this point it crosses the boundary fence via a stile for a 100m walk through the reserve to access the beach. 

Be aware that this is a working farm, so stay away from animals and do not touch electric fences.  

Getting there

This access track starts on Kai Iwi Lakes Road. Follow this road past Promenade Point campground. After 750m you'll see the orange sign on a gate to Waikare Farm on your left. Do not park your car here, but continue along the road for 100m and you'll find a carpark on the right hand side on the shores of Lake Waikere.
