Alas, access to this area is not free. It is private land and the owner demands that you pay a fee at the café, before proceeding towards the peninsula (called Stokksnes) from which you will get a majestic view of this unique mountain, called Vestrahorn. There are also the decrepit ruins of a movie set, but they are falling apart and I do not think that they are as worthy of a visit as many people believe, but access to this set, representing a very idealised “Viking village” is included in the entrance fee.
