Castello di Sasso Corbaro, perched above Bellinzona, is the smallest and youngest of the city’s three UNESCO-listed castles. Built in 1479, it was designed to bolster Bellinzona’s defenses and provides a commanding view over the valley and its sister castles, Castelgrande and Montebello.

Unlike the other two castles, Sasso Corbaro sits detached from the city’s original fortifications.
