Whats here?

  • The highest peak in southern WA

  • A proper uphill hike — no flat stroll here

  • Well-marked trail the whole way & a pathway to follow

What to expect

  • Consistent incline almost the entire climb (its out & back so the way back is all down hill)

  • Steep sections that will test your legs

  • Big panoramic views at the top (worth the effort)

  • Usually windy and cooler up high (bring a jacket/wind breaker the wind was icy and I was there in summer)

Good to know

  • Allow 3–4 hours return depending on pace

  • Take water — there’s very little shade higher up

  • Weather changes quickly at the summit

  • It cost $17 per car at the time

Is it worth it?

If you’re into hiking, absolutely. It’s one of the better summit views in the region and feels like you’ve earned it.

If you’re more about beaches, short walks, or you’re tight on time — you can skip it. It’s a commitment.

Good option if you want to break up coastal stops with something more challenging.
