The Werdenfelser Hütte is a popular mountain hut located next to the ruins of Werdenfels Castle in the Ammergauer Alps. It's a great spot for a day trip from Garmisch, offering beautiful views over the Loisach Valley to the Ester and Wetterstein Mountains. You can reach the hut in a 30-minute walk from the parking lot on Pflegerseestraße, where you'll also find the entrance to the castle ruins. The hut serves up delicious Bavarian specialties and homemade treats like Kaiserschmarrn, perfect for refueling after a hike.
