Basalt Hotel is a fairly new hotel with simple & modern, yet cozy, large rooms in the middle of nowhere. It fits perfectly into the landscape and is really a gem of a hotel. The location is very private and great for a night between visiting the Golden Circle & either Snæfellsnes Peninsula or the Silver Circle. The hotel has a hotel on site, serving both breakfast and dinner (nothing fancy but still yummy). The lobby is also a comfortable space to work, play games, and read. The cherry on top is the natural hot pot just a few steps away - a breathtaking spot to view the Northern Lights! Another great thing about this hotel is it's price point, especially when you consider all of the wonderful things this hotel has to offer! Beware that although the roads to get here are not F-roads, they are long and made of gravel. Drive carefully as you may not see any other cars along the way.
