Geraldton is the ultimate pit stop when you’re road-tripping through WA. It’s one of those rare gems where you can stock up on all the essentials—Woolies, Kmart, BWS, Maccas, cheap fuel —you name it, it’s all here. Trust me, you’ll want to make the most of it before heading back into the remote stretches of the coast. I also love Muzz Buz; a drive-thru coffee place with really good (LARGE) coffee!
The town itself has a chilled, coastal vibe with plenty of spots to explore if you’re hanging around for a bit. Hit up the foreshore for a walk or a swim—there are playgrounds, cafes, and heaps of space to stretch your legs. If you’re into history, the HMAS Sydney II Memorial is a beautiful and moving tribute.
For campers, there’s a 24-hour free beach camp at Point Moore Lighthouse. It’s super handy, with toilets, cold showers, and a grassy area for a picnic. Plus, the sunsets here are unreal! And yep, the town is pet-friendly—perfect if your furry mate is along for the ride.
