Gornergrat is the top of Zermatt with 360 degree views of 29 fourthousanders, glaciers and of course the Matterhorn. How to get there: Take the train up to Gornergrat. This is also one of the most beautiful train rides in Switzerland. A wonderful hike is the Riffelberg Hike. After getting off from Gornergrat start your way downhill and follow the sign to Riffelsee. After arriving at the Riffelsee (30min) keep going direction Riffelberg. There you have two options: either the Swiss Topwalk trail which is 2km or the Riffelseehike which is 3km. Just after Riffelsee itself you find another beautiful lake. After arriving at Riffelberg, you can take the train back down to the village. The total amount of time is 1.5 to 2.5 hours and 4-5km distance. Price: Unfortunately its also one of the most expensive places to go but the views dont disappoint.
