The Blue Pools Track near Wanaka is a short, scenic walk renowned for its stunning turquoise waters and lush native forest surroundings. It's an excellent choice for families, casual walkers, and photographers seeking a picturesque and accessible destination.

🏞️ Track Overview
- Distance: Approximately 3 km return
- Duration: Around 1 hour
- Difficulty: Easy

The track meanders through silver beech and podocarp forest, crossing two swing bridges that offer spectacular views of the crystal-clear pools formed by the confluence of the Makarora and Blue Rivers. The pools are renowned for their striking blue hue, especially vivid on sunny days. While swimming is possible, the glacier-fed waters are frigid year-round .

🦟 Additional Considerations

- Sandflies: They can be quite prevalent, especially during warmer months. Consider bringing insect repellent or wearing long sleeves and pants.
- Swimming: The water is icy cold, even in summer. If you choose to swim, be prepared for a brisk experience.
