Zpráva od Kristoffer Føns

Big Ben, officially known as the Great Bell of the clock tower at the Palace of Westminster in London, is a famous British icon. Standing tall at 316 feet, it was completed in 1859 and designed in a Gothic Revival style by Sir Charles Barry and Augustus Pugin. The clock tower features intricate stone carvings and national emblems of the UK's four countries. Big Ben's nickname may have come from Sir Benjamin Hall or heavyweight boxer Benjamin Caunt. Renowned for its accuracy and reliability, the clock and tower underwent renovations from 2017 to 2021, preserving its status as a symbol of parliamentary democracy and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
