Zpráva od Johan Haugsrud

Hedalen Stavkyrkje is a delightful church dating from the 12th century located in Sør-Aurdal Municipality within Innlandet county of Norway. This historic church features an ornately carved entrance Portal which displays three winged dragons entwined with tendrils and leaves, and is one of the oldest and most impressively decorated portals in the country. Inside, the reliquary chasse is an excellent surviving example of its type, crafted from wood with gilt-brass mountings and scenes from the Bible. The Virgin and Child statue, wooden tabernacle, and crucifix also date from the early 13th century, making them some of the most beautiful works of medieval art to survive. Visitors to Hedalen Stave Church can truly appreciate this ancient wonder, and marvel at the timeless beauty preserved here.
