Ekebergskråningen is a beautiful natural area located in Oslo, Norway. It has been inhabited since the Stone Age and even now holds remnants of prehistory, with petroglyphs carved into the side of the mountain enclosure. Through the centuries, it has provided locals with recreational activities from hunting during the hunter-gatherer days to strolling in the park in more recent years. Despite its long-term use, Ekebergskråningen also holds a rich military history. During WWII, the Germans used the open, elevated area as a site for ceremonies and laid many mines here in an anti-aircraft defense. Today, it is a bustling spot where visitors can observe sculptures from top notch international artists, explore the museum, or simply get some fresh air and take in the incredible views.
